- TK22-680-XML2... Love itReview by suzanne g.
Firstly, when unwinding the end to insert the rechargeable 18650-3400 battery (which is great, BTW), the middle part (at the fore-part of the meshed grip), loosened. As I had read the instructions and understood unscrewing anything apart from the battery-end was a no-no, I was surprised at how easily it did this. It makes me wonder at the water-proofing of it (as the battery end needs an O-ring) - though, if the rest of its quality is anything to go by (and Fenix's long warranty), I'm sure it's alright.
My second criticism is only slight, and relates to the 270m range, which I think is exaggerated. All we've made out at that distance is the dim white trunk of a large tree and some faint 'eyes' from the critters out in the paddock. But I never expected a bright spot-light at that range from such a compact torch, so we aren't worried by that.
Now the positives.
In all other respects, it's a great torch. To add another side to my above criticism re: range, the spot-light is VERY bright up to about 150m on turbo mode - bright enough to spot-light cats, foxes, rabbits, etc - which makes the weapon-mounting very attractive and something we will buy.
The torch itself is very robust (a tank, as it is claimed) and obviously very-well made. It has a nice ergonomic and strong feel to it and the buttons are well-placed and easy to use.
The settings are easy and convenient, and the strobe is a ripper. I think any wild or urban animal with 'that' flashing in its face would take a step back or two. Powerful and small enough to carry in a pocket, holster or purse.
We will definitely be buying a few more in the TK range through Brightnite and highly recommend them. Their service was fast and efficient and despite living in the country,we received the package in a week.
Highly recommend!!! (Posted on 15/06/2014)
